Sicco van Gelder is the founder of Placebrands. After a decade of marketing research and consultancy work worldwide Sicco decided to put his observations about different kinds of brands and the structural, cultural and motivational influences exerted upon them into writing. The result is his seminal book titled ‘Global Brand Strategy – Unlocking Brand Potential Across Countries Cultures and Markets’ (Kogan Page, London 2003). The book describes a model that can be used as a framework to strategise for and manage a brand worldwide ensuring that the brand reaches its fullest potential in each market.
